As always, great food and always friendly. Pick up at the door, no problem with a mask. Many Thanks
I've only been to the beer garden, but it's a nice place to sit on a summer day.
Duck with red cabbage, potato dumpling and sauce ordered and picked up. Everything was practically individually packed and well insulated so that everything was still nice and hot despite the transport. The duck was wonderfully crispy and, like the other side dishes, very tasty. Gladly again. Excellent as always.
We ordered a goose to pick up without any side dishes at 4pm We were there way too early but the goose was ready and still warm Made in the oven again at home and heated up and our side dishes cooked The goose was delicious and tender, I can only recommend it
Even in Corona times, you can pick up ToGo food (even whole geese if ordered in advance) at the nicely decorated entrance and sip delicious mulled wine with and without a shot!
We were more than disappointed. Fluff service and just average food. That used to be much better. We miss the old days of this once great restaurant.
The beer garden is really nice and it's really nice to sit here. Unfortunately, however, the relationship between price, performance and the size of the portions is not right at all. My second visit / attempt unfortunately ended with the same result. It's really nice to sit here and I'll be happy to have a drink here from time to time, but I definitely won't eat here anymore.
Good lunch menu. The staff could be more attentive. We sat quietly in the sunny beer garden.
Met our expectations. Nice pub ambience. Beer garden available, but the weather doesn’t approve of it. Appealing interior, neat and cozy. A bit decorated for the Oktoberfest time and beer on tap, simply delicious. Food too, of course. Big vegetable tarte flambée and seasonal vegetables seared crispy with coconut curry sauce and rice. Service very friendly, quick and very attentive! Great, that's fun, we'd love to come back.
Eat good as always. Quality commensurate with the price. The beer garden is really pleasant in every way. The service was a little too hard, but better than the other way around.
Very crowded but good and fast service
Food and service was great. We left 120 euros for two. Not a cheap restaurant but price worthy. However, the toilets were under all cannon. Dirty and a smell that even got through a mouth mask. Today there are good resources or washroom concepts for this. To be honest, I would have liked to deduct 1.5 stars for it. 2 seems too much to me for that. But actually one too few, and only for the washroom. Otherwise highly recommended, very nice terrace
Simply delicious. Great steaks prepared. Schnitzel also delicious. You can also have breakfast there. Very nice beer garden at the back. Not the cheapest ..... but worth every penny.
Nice beer garden. Staff ok
Cozy restaurant with a very nice beer garden. Home cooking with typical dishes from the region. Freshly and deliciously prepared. Service friendly and courteous. Facing the guests, even when things get hectic and there are many guests on site. We were in the beer garden when the weather was nice and had a pleasant lunch. The Alte Krug is absolutely worth a visit - it has my recommendation ;-)
We celebrated a small family event here. There was enough space to keep enough distance. The staff was very attentive and friendly and wore MNS all the time! The food was delicious too. All around great!
Apparently there is a 2-class society in the old jug. We went there yesterday evening on a recommendation and opted for the beer garden. So I'm only talking about the beer garden! If it is really recommended in the operating area as it is often written here, then the visit to the self-service area was obviously a mistake. Because the prices are steep and the gentleman selling not only impatient but also unfriendly and soggy. However, he shot the bird when he asked for a € 1 surcharge in the menu for the "upgrade" to sweet potato fries, although the price difference between a normal serving of fries and sweet potato fries is only 20 cents. We finished our beer and left quickly! It is a shame how poor service in the beer garden kills a well-rated restaurant with new customers. Because we will definitely not come back to test the restaurant!
Nice big beer garden. Beautiful inside as well. German food. Outdoor summer kitchen where you can get drinks if you are not going to dine.
Good food, good beer for middle price
The old Krug is a beer garden with a restaurant area. In the restaurant there is good food in the slightly higher price range with service. There is self-service at a grill station in the beer garden. You sit comfortably in the back yard away from the street. Inside, it's more like an old farmhouse. Tip: There is a good selection of cakes. I am there more often and with pleasure.
We sat outside on a hot Saturday evening. Despite the high number of visitors, the service was friendly and quick. Our request to move the table was met with patience. The food was very tasty and individual requests were also catered for here. Conclusion: A successful visit with delicious food and good service, which can definitely be repeated.
Friendly staff, excellent food, try Blutwurst by champion Blutwurst butcher
Good schnitzel, ok service, fairly expensive though..
Too bad it was really good in the old pitcher. Yesterday's meal was a fillet steak, which was excellent at times, but this time much worse and therefore too expensive at over EUR 30. In winter, in the totally overcrowded restaurant, we were seated in such a bad corner in the giant hall, despite making a reservation, that we had left the restaurant. The kitchen can no longer handle these quantities. In the garden you can sit very nicely, our recommendation: rethink price-performance!
Great restaurant! Everything was fine here. The food was very tasty . The service was very good, extremely attentive and quick. , (although the restaurant was very full) is not very cheap but here you just feel comfortable and that's why this restaurant is worth every euro. We will come back in any case. Highly recommended!
Great outdoor "Biergarten" venue especially since their recent remodeling. Choose from their updated self-service bar or order from their restaurant menu.
I love going here!! The meat dishes are a bit pricy but especially the Wiener Schnitzel is amazing and worth the price! The outside beer garden is very nice and the ambience is just great overall
A little bit overpriced as for me, have some nice beer and cool deserts.
Good kitchen and menu with tasty dishes, though pricey
A place to taste a true German cuisine in Berlin. We went there as part of our company’s Christmas gathering with the team and booked a portion of the restaurant. The team at the restaurant were super helpful and looked after every one of us to make sure we had a great time.
The food is not worth the money you paid. Their discrimination on Chinese people is really unbearable and unacceptable. They should remove the sentences from the receipt and apologize for Chinese people, it is not a joke. I will never go to this restaurant again if it keeps discriminating on Chinese people.
Very delicious! Great service! Local citizens have dinners here and it means place worth visiting.
food was pretty expensive and pretty mediocre. The vegetarian choices were limited. If you like your Bratwurst and Kartoffelsalat, that's your place to go :-)
Very good food.
Lovely food and Friendly setting, a bit expensive but recommended
A really good restaurant with a lot of cosiness - many niches - great card! The whole thing has an old name with "old jug" - but is very young !!! The whole in an environment - with a lot of ambience. Conclusion - here you just have to stop.
A bottle of water costs 7.5 euro!
Very good flamkuchen
Food is good, ambiance cozy, service friendly and prices fair. Recommended.
Went in for lunch and to have a beer, staff were inattentive and seemed disinterested. Left waiting a long time despite it being not busy, went inside to order beer, given a menu at our request, told it was table service but they never came to serve us. So we didn’t order food. Disappointing.
Food was fine but very family unfriendly. Only water available is 3.50 euro per small cup. So if you have kids you will spend 10 euro easily on still water. Ridiculous.
Great beirgarten in Dahlem. Food is top quality and prices reflect that. There are several areas to relax and find a quiet space to visit with friends
Nice summer location
Good good, excellent service and value for money.
I had an absolutely horrible experience in this restaurant. The food was lackluster and expensive. Most importantly, the waiter was an obvious racist, who was quite clear about his dislike for people like me, that is brown people. I was the only non-white person in the group and the only person the waiter clearly disliked, to put it mildly. He inexplicably refused to allow me to exclude an ingredient from the dish I ordered. To make matters worse, the waiter, a skinny middle-aged man, complained agressively at the end because I did not tip him. I have never felt so unwelcome and harassed at any other restaurant. A customer should never feel like this for a service for which she/he is paying. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially if you are a person of color.
One of the fantastic summer hangouts in Berlin, a beer garden (Biergarten). This one is at the upper end of quality and coziness of the ones that I have experienced.
I had dinner at the beer garden section of the Alter Krug and I had a great time. I ordered Schnitzel, nothing special, but it was good. I would recommend to come here for the cosy atmosphere in the summer time. The cuisine of the restaurant is mostly German, but this week's menu had BBQ burgers also, so make sure to check their website before your visit.
Nice 'out of the way' place.
Excellent German food in a warm atmosphere. Very friendly staff. You may eat outside as they have a huge, leafy terrace. Possibility to rent a tiny house in the garden for candlelight diner or brunch for small parties. Very, very cute!
Delicious white asparagus flat pizza, salmon, and kids schnitzel. Gorgeous sun and shade with beer garden food on half of garden and table service on the other. Service attentive. Food somewhat pricy for Berlin but what one would expect in Dahlem.
